About Couples Counseling Services

Couples therapy at WBHG offers a grounded, supportive space for partners to strengthen connection, navigate conflict, and build a relationship that feels intentional, resilient, and aligned with their values. Whether you’re seeking support during a challenging season or looking to deepen intimacy and communication, couples counseling helps partners understand each other more fully and move toward healthier, more fulfilling patterns. At its core, this work is about creating a relationship where each person feels seen, respected, and emotionally safe.

Couples therapy can support partners through a wide range of relational experiences, including communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, life transitions, parenting stress, betrayal or trust ruptures, and navigating differences in needs or expectations. Sessions focus on helping partners slow down reactive patterns, understand the emotions beneath conflict, and build skills for more compassionate, effective communication. This work is collaborative and tailored to each relationship’s unique dynamics, identities, and goals.

Premarital Counseling

Premarital counseling helps couples build a strong foundation before entering marriage or long‑term commitment. This may include exploring shared values, communication styles, conflict patterns, family-of-origin influences, financial expectations, intimacy, and long‑term visioning. The goal is not perfection, its clarity, alignment, and confidence in how you will navigate life together.

Counseling for Non-traditional and Queer Relationships

WBHG specializes in affirming, culturally responsive care for LGBTQ+, queer, and non‑traditional partnerships. This includes supporting partners navigating identity development, coming‑out processes, minority stress, family or cultural dynamics, and relationship structures that fall outside heteronormative expectations. Therapy offers a space where all identities, pronouns, bodies, and relationship configurations are respected and understood without the need to educate your therapist.

Divorce and Separation Counseling

When partners are considering separation, or have already decided to end their relationship, therapy can provide a compassionate and structured space to navigate the transition. This may include clarifying decisions, processing grief, co‑parenting planning, reducing conflict, and supporting each partner in moving forward with dignity and emotional clarity. The focus is on minimizing harm, honoring the relationship’s history, and supporting each person’s wellbeing.

Sex Therapy for Couples

Sex therapy helps partners explore intimacy, desire, pleasure, and sexual wellbeing in a nonjudgmental and shame‑free environment. This may include addressing mismatched desire, sexual pain, performance anxiety, communication barriers, or the impact of stress, trauma, or identity on sexual connection. WBHG offers kink‑affirming, polyamory‑affirming, and ethical non‑monogamy‑affirming care, supporting couples in navigating boundaries, agreements, jealousy, and communication within their chosen relationship structure. The goal is to help partners cultivate a sexual relationship that feels authentic, connected, and aligned with their values.
